7 round Swiss. 25 minutes plus 10 seconds per move per player from move 1.

ENTRIES:
All competitors MUST enter online using the digital registration form below.
Entries close at 5pm on Friday the 16th of August.
FEES & LEVIES:
Entry fees may be paid on the day in cash (cash only for on-the-day payments), or online prior to the event by credit card or PayPal, or by direct transfer to the TCA.

In accordance with section 3 of the TCA Constitution, Tasmanian players not already a member of the TCA must pay an Individual TCA Membership levy in addition to their entry fee. This fee entitles the individual to all items listed under rule 3.2 of the constitution until the commencement of the next TCA financial year (rule 6.5)
PRIZES:
The Tasmanian Rapid Championships is operated as an annual fundraising event. Book prizes are donated by TCA members.
TITLES:
Winners of the Tasmanian Rapid Championship shall be conferred the title of “Tasmanian Rapid Chess Champions” in accordance with the TCA’s State Title Eligibility Policy.

HALF-POINT BYES:
Competitors may take up to 2 half-point byes during rounds 1-5 of this event. Half point byes are not available in rounds 6 or 7. Half-point bye requests for rounds 1 and 2 must be notified to the Director of Play before the start of round 1. Half-point bye requests for rounds 3, 4, & 5 must be notified before the start of the preceding round round. Late requests may be declined and result in either a 0 point bye, or a time forfeit.
NOTES:
FIDE Laws 2018 apply – ringing mobiles will incur automatic loss. Entrants agree to abide by all decisions of the organisers and arbiters. The organisers reserve the right to make any changes required.
This TCA tournament has been organised and operated to comply with the TCA Constitution and the Tournament Guidelines of the TCA.
